Bear Black Record
A bear black record can be learned from a breeder of hunting dogs; a taxidermist can show you some pictures of large animals.
Most stories are either exaggerations or involve incidents that are the rare exceptions. Warnings about these animals usually don't distinguish between black and grizzly species and are intended more to prevent liability problems than to truly educate the public about the right behavior.

Bear Black Record -
breeder, pictures
These animals are not as dangerous as their brown (grizzly) relatives. They try to avoid contacts with humans and their ferocious displays seldom end in contact. Their aggression is more ritualized expressions of apprehension than threat, so it is quite possible to coexist with them.
